Chiefly Speaking

I would like to start off by welcoming all Arrowmen reading this article on the Ittawamba Lodge website. I hope over the course of this calendar year I get to know each and every one of you.

With the 2013 year brings us the 70th anniversary of the Ittawamba Lodge.

This year, our lodge will be focusing on four areas of the program. These are Membership Retention, our Chapters, High Adventure participation, and our Camp Promotions. Similar to last year, my Lodge Officers and I all made our goals relevant to the success of a vision. This year our vision for the Lodge is to improve those four areas of our Lodge program so we can pave the way for another 70 years of success for Ittawamba!

There are several things we are doing this year that we have never done before in the Lodge. For starters, we now have a sixth Lodge Officer who will be a Vice Chief presiding over the Training program. Another new thing we are doing this year is re-issuing some of our older Flaps and Patches.

For all of the new members I would strongly recommend attending this year’s “All American Conclave” in Tupelo Mississippi at Camp Yocona. Attending this Conclave will not only give you an opportunity to fellowship with members of our Lodge but of our Section as well. There will also be several trainings you can attend Saturday morning to help you expand your knowledge in the Order of the Arrow.

YIS,

Nick Varnick

Lodge Chief
